Ground floor Systems
Senior Ground Floor Systems have been developed to give
building designers the widest range of options with the minimum
level of complexity.
Depending on architectural
style the SFG range is available either flush glazed or bead
glazed. All major profiles are 100mm in depth with a face
dimension of 45mm for single glazing and 50mm for double glazing.
Specific profiles for 90 degree corners and variable corners are
available, together with square and sloping beads so that facades
can be tailored to individual requirements.
Construction
All SFG framing is mechanically jointed using stainless steel or
plated self-tapping screws into integral screw ports extruded
within the body of the sections. jointing is by butt joints with
applied sealant to protect against water ingress. This allows
multi-panel facades to be factory assembled in modules and then
transported to site for final installation.
Glazing
Senior SFG products may be either single or double glazed. Double
glazed profiles accept units to a thickness of 24mm. All glazing
is achieved using gaskets to ensure maximum performance with
minimum in-service maintenance. Gasketry is manufactured in
accordance with BS3743 and glazing should be carried out in
accordance with BS6262.
Finishes
Senior SFG is available in mill finish for final finishing by
others, natural (silver) and bronze (Anolok 547) anodised to
BS3897 1991 or powder coated to BS6496 1984. Many profiles are
held in stock in natural and bronze anodised finish.
Senior door systems
Senior Door Systems are designed to offer architects and
specifiers a comprehensive range of options for personnel access,
emergency escape, automatic entrances and large sliding doors.
Working from an integrated
range of profiles and accessories Senior are able to offer
entrance solutions tailored to a client’s individual needs.
These currently include:
-
single/double
action pivot doors
-
butt hinged doors
-
automatic sliding and
swing doors
-
sliding/folding doors
-
large sliding showroom
doors
-
anti-finger trap safety
doors
The SD Range of profiles has
been developed to offer building designers a real choice. Door
stiles and rails are available in two widths with a range of
mid-rails to allow further architectural expression. Doors may be
fully or partly glazed and louvred where required.
In automatic door
applications a purpose designed header bar is available to accept
the automatic door gear so that the visual integrity of the
installation is not compromised.
Construction
Senior Doors are designed to give long term performance in high
traffic areas. All are mechanically jointed - screwed and bolted -
using purpose designed cleats with torsion bars for additional
strength.
Should emergency repairs be
necessary following attempted burglary etc, this method of
construction allows individual stiles and rails to be replaced on
site without having to take the door leaf concerned to a
fabrication workshop.
Weathering
Senior Door systems have integral single and double weatherpile
grooves in door stiles with additional sections, secret and face
fixed, to accept brush seals where these are required.
Safety & Security
A typical Senior Door installation would include a deadlock to the
opening leaf with flush bolts to slave leaves. However the SD
suite of profiles accepts a wide range of high performance manual
and automatic locking systems. Additional protection is provided
by security beading systems, either secretly riveted to the door
rails or extruded as an integral part of the rail itself.
Safety has also become an
essential consideration of door
installations and the Senior range now includes an anti-fingertrap
door stile for single and double action personnel doors, together
with a stile developed particularly for panic bar applications.
Sliding Doors
Where requirements dictate larger glazed areas to be moveable
Senior has the solution. Large sliding doors are available, for
example motor showroom doors and sliding and folding doors for
shopping malls or swimming pools.
Glazing
Senior Door Systems are designed to accept single glazing between
6mm - 12mm in thickness and double glazing to a maximum of 24mm.
All glazing should be carried out to the recommendation of B56262.
All glass is dry glazed using a combination of captive and wedge
gaskets manufactured in accordance with BS3 734.
Finishes
Senior Door Systems are available in mill finish for final
finishing by others, natural (silver) and bronze (Anolok 547)
anodised to BS3897: 1991 or powder coated to BS6496: 1984. Many
profiles are held in stock in natural and bronze anodised finish.
Accessories
Senior Aluminium Systems hold stock of all the major accessories
required to fabricate the SD system. These include, gasketry,
closers, hinges,
flush bolts, locks, weatherpile, panic bars, sliding door tracks
and rollers. Other accessories can be obtained to order.
Door Furniture
Senior Door Systems accept door furniture from a wide range of
manufacturers. All Senior Service Centres are stockists of the
Alpro handle range which offer the building designer a full range
of tubular and ‘D’ line handles in stainless steel and
aluminium. A wide variety of finishes can be applied including
polishing, anodising, powder coating or nylon coating.
