Subframe window wall
Subframe is a fully drained combination screen and window
system utilising an integral rebate in the outer frame to accept
either beaded fixed light glazing or top/side hung opening window
vents. The system provides a highly cost effective solution to
non-thermal or thermally broken glazing with a requirement for
natural ventilation. Used extensively in school and hospital
projects, it also provides excellent glazed walkways due to the
structural capacity of the main frame members.
Construction
Subframe main framework is butt jointed and assembled using
stainless steel self-tapping screws into integral screw ports
extruded into the body of the main sections. Vertical sections run
through, and the horizontal sections are square cut and then
machined to locate over the vertical rebates. Opening vent units
are mitred and mechanically crimped using support chevrons and
cleats to ensure alignment. Individual modules can be fully
assembled and then transported to site for multi-panel assembly.
Glazing
Subframe is a fully drained, dry glazed system with captive and
wedge gaskets. Differing gasket and bead combinations allow both
single and doubleglazing for glass thickness between 4mm and 28mm
in both fixed light and vent areas. All glazing should be carried
out to BS6262.
Performance
SAS Subframe Window Wall has been tested and classified in
accordance with B563 75: 1989. Test reports are available through
Senior Service Centres.
Sx200 Series
SX200 is a high performance, drained, lightweight commercial
window system with an excellent record in service. The range has
now been developed to include fixed-lights, top-hung, side-hung,
pivot and tilt-turn styles, either internally or externally
beaded. A variety of mullions and transoms allowing large
composite windows to be fabricated, completes the range. Maximum
sizes, together with other features, are included in the table.

Construction
SX200 windows are constructed using mitred and mechanically
crimped corners with support chevrons and cleats to ensure
accurate alignment. Integral transoms and mullions are
mechanically fixed and sealed to outer frames. All necessary crimp
tooling is available from Senior Aluminium Systems to ensure the
correct level of quality in fabrication.
Glazing
SX200 is a drained dry glazed system utilising captive and wedge
gaskets. All glazing to be in accordance with BS6262. Single
glazing from 4mm to 11mm and double-glazing up to 28mm can be
installed.
Performance
All SX window types have been tested and classified in accordance
with BS6375 Part 1: 1989. Test reports are available from Senior
Service Centres.
SW400
The SW400 series is a high performance heavier duty window
suite capable of undertaking a wide variety of large and small
commercial projects. Fully drained, either non-thermal or
thermally broken, the range has been extensively developed and
tested and now includes the following
window types:
fixed-light, top-hung, side-hung/open out, side- hung/open in,
horizontal pivot, vertical pivot, overswing and tilt-turn.
A range of mullions and
transoms, allowing large composite windows to be fabricated,
completes the range. Maximum sizes, beading alternatives and
multi-point locking for the varying window types are summarised in
the chart.

NOR sliding windows
A highly cost effective system offering vertical and
horizontal sliding windows in a non-thermafly broken format for
both new build and refurbishment markets. If required the outer
frame can be installed separately from the sliding panels
preventing damage to the moving components on site.
Construction
NOR outer framework is mechanically jointed and square cut with
sealant at all metal-to-metal joints. The insulated sliding panels
have knock-on and wrap-around gaskets with the perimeter aluminium
sections cut, sealed and jointed using self-tapping screws.
Draught-proofing to both horizontal and sliding panels is by means
of woolpile in extruded grooves in the outer frame.
Glazing
NOR sliding windows are designed to accept single glazing of 4mm,
6mm and 6.4mm thickness. Double-glazing of 14mm and 18mm overall
thickness can be accommodated.
And finally....
